The 8th European Congress of Chemical Engineering hosted the 7th CAPE-OPEN European Conference
that marked the 10th anniversary of CO-LaN. CO-LaN was also acting as a sponsor of the conference.
The 8th ECCE was held from September 25 till 29, 2011 in Berlin, Germany.
The 7th CAPE-OPEN European Conference was made of two parts, one in the official program and one outside the official program of ECCE-8.
Within the official program, one session of the "CAPE simulation and control" track featured
four presentations directly related to CAPE-OPEN. This session, well attended by 50+ people, was held on Tuesday September 27 from 4 pm till 6 pm in Salon 21
(Lilienthal) and was chaired by CO-LaN Chief Technology Officer:
- 4:00 - 4:30: "Development of a CAPE-OPEN compatible library for thermodynamic models and unit operations using .NET" by B. MARIBO-MOGENSEN, G.M. KONTOGEORGIS, K. THOMSEN, Technical University of Denmark
- 4:30 - 5:00: "Advances on CAPE-OPEN Unit Operation interfaces" by R. BAUR (Shell Global Solutions International, J. van BATEN (AmsterCHEM), M. PONS (CO-LaN) (PDF,
SWF)
- 5:00 - 5:30: "Proposal for a new CAPE-OPEN Object Model" by J. van BATEN (AmsterCHEM), M. PONS (CO-LaN), W. BARRETT (US EPA)
- 5:30 - 6:00: "Prototyping of CAPE-OPEN hydrodynamic interface design proposal" by M. GAINVILLE, G. FERRER, P. ROUX (IFP Energies Nouvelles) (PDF).
On September 28, 2011 in Room 36/37, CO-LaN held its Annual General Meeting of Members,
further presentations about SIG activities were given and the CAPE-OPEN Award for 2010 was presented to Bertrand Braunschweig.
