Request For Comments issued on revised Thermo 1.1 specification

Initially posted on February 3, 2009

The Thermodynamic and Physical Properties interface specification version 1.1 was originally approved in October 2006. Since then it has been successfully implemented in a number of PMEs (COFE, ProSim Plus, Aspen Hysys, INDISS, SolidSim, etc...) as well as in a number of PMCs (TEA, Simulis Thermidynamics, MultiFlash, etc...). It has proved more usable than version 1.0 even if its implementation was sometimes considered more difficult (recent communication by CiT at the 5th CAPE-OPEN US Conference for instance).

The Thermo Special Interest Group (SIG) has worked for two years now on the revision of this specification with the aim of clarifying the specification without changing its inner working. An interim "Errata and Clarifications" document was issued, forming the basis of the modifications introduced in the interface specification document. This is now leading to a new interface specification document known as version 3.02 of the interface specification.

Everybody willing to comment on this new version is welcome. Comments should be made through the comment form available here. Once filled the comment form should be sent back to . The Thermo SIG will subsequently review the comments and consider them for the final specification document. Comments should be received by March 15, 2009. Thank you for your time and effort.
