The PPDS Thermoserver Toolkit is a proven set of programs providing quality-assured thermophysical property software and data, which is used worldwide for a wide range o f process engineering applications. PPDS for Windows is the major program in the suite for physical property and phase equilibrium calculations of both pure components and mixtures, based on a set of standard databanks. A flexible API (Applications Programming Interface) is available for easy integration to market-leading applications in areas such as process simulation, batch processing, thermal integration, heat transfer and fluid flow.

CAPE-OPEN Project descriptions:

V1.0

The PPDS CAPE-OPEN module is a fully-featured implementation of the Thermo v1.0 standard, including all general property and phase equilibrium calculations with industry-standard models. This Property Package plug was available for general use in June 2004 and has been tested successfully integrated with a number of major simulators and other applications operating in the PME environment.

The PPDS module can provide access to a Property Package through the ThermoSystem interface, which is configured with three typical packages for initial use with the installed version of the program. In addition, the IAPS84 water/steam table is available as a stand-alone Property Package. The PPDS v4 release in March 2004 added a PropertyPackage Manager to allow easy creation and use of additional property packages via the ThermoSystem interface.

V1.1

Work is now well-advanced on the production of an updated module which will support all the interfaces of the Thermo v1.1 standard. This will be available in Aug 2007.
