About Belsim:
Located in Belgium, Belsim was created end of the 80's by Prof B. Kalitventzeff
and Dr G. Heyen as a spin-off from University of Liège, Belgium.
Belsim is nowadays an independent Belgian Company active in the field of
Computer Aided Process Engineering (CAPE) which specialises in delivering
software, providing solutions and consulting for production accounting, process
performance follow-up and optimisation mainly in the refining and chemical
industry as well as in the energy sector. Belsim also provides its software and
experience to engineering companies.
Project description:
The core business of Belsim is the innovating field of data validation where we
are the leaders with the software VALI. However, our company positions itself
more as a solution provider, meaning that - in our field of competence - we are
skilled and equipped to deliver turn-key solutions up to final customer
acceptance and end-user training.
VALI is a process oriented software suite aiming at determining and improving
production efficiency, productivity and energy consumption while reducing
production and maintenance costs.
Thanks to advanced data validation methods, VALI
is used to determine a clear state of process operation and results in coherent
heat and mass balances and reliable key performance indicators. This clear
process picture gives the plant operation managers the necessary information and
knowledge to safely drive their process to reach its ultimate performance.
Benefits achieved
VALI has a CO compliant thermo-socket that enables thermodynamic calculations to
be carried-out through thermodynamic packages made available by other software
vendors in the form of CO compliant thermo plugs.
